Pursuant to the Spanish regulations governing the use of cookies in relation to the provision of electronic communications services, as set forth in Royal Decree-Act 13/2012 of 30 March, we hereby inform you of the cookies used on the website of GARAIA PARQUE TECNOLOGICO S.COOP (Garaia) ptgaraia.eus (hereinafter the “Website”) and the reason why they are used. Furthermore, Garaia informs you that by browsing the Website you are giving us your consent to use them.

What are cookies and what are they used for?

cookie is a file that is downloaded onto your computer, tablet, smartphone or any other device when you visit certain websites. Among other things, cookies allow websites to store and retrieve information about the browsing habits of a user or their device and, depending on the information that they contain and the way in which your device is used, they may be used to recognise the user. Cookies could never damage your device. On the contrary, the fact that they are enabled allows us to identify and resolve any errors.

Identification of cookies

Cookies are classified below according to a set of categories.  However, bear in mind that a single cookie may fall under more than one category.

Types of cookies according to the entity that manages them:

Depending on the entity that manages the device or domain from which the cookies are sent and processes the data that is obtained, they can be divided into:

  • First-party cookies: These are cookies that are sent to the user’s terminal device from a device or domain that is managed by the publisher and from which the service requested by the user is managed.
  • Third-party cookies: These are cookies that are sent to the user’s terminal device from a device or domain that is not managed by the publisher, but by another entity which processes the data obtained through the cookies.

When cookies are installed from a device or domain that is managed by the publisher, but the information collected through them is managed by a third party, they cannot be considered first-party cookies.

Types of cookies, according to the period of time during which they remain active:

Depending on the period of time for which they remain active on the terminal device, they can be divided into :

  • Session cookies: This type of cookie is designed to collect and store data while the user is visiting a website. They are normally used to store information that is only required to be stored for the provision of the service requested by the user on a single occasion (e.g. a list of products purchased).
  • Persistent cookies: With these types of cookies, the data remains stored on the terminal and can be accessed and processed during a set period by the entity responsible for the cookie; this may range from a number of minutes to several years.

Add-ons cookies from external content providers:

The cookies used by add-ons of external content providers are necessary to allow the user to access the content or services provided by third-party providers, such as videos hosted on YouTube or viewing geographical locations on Google Maps. They are governed by the provisions of their respective cookie policies.

Google add-on cookies

Garaia uses Google’s external add-ons. Using them requires cookies to be sent.

For further information see: How Google uses cookies

The information collected by Google’s external add-ons on our Website, including the user’s IP address, may be sent to Google and stored on their servers. This information is managed entirely by Google. These cookies do not identify users personally unless they are logged into Google, in which case they are linked to said Google account.

For further information see: Types of cookies used by Google

Garaia uses the Google Maps add-on to display geographical locations (our office).

In some parts of the website, Garaia shows embedded YouTube videos. The cookies installed by Google on any site that includes a YouTube video are used to measure the number and behaviour of YouTube users, including the information relating to any visit to our Website with your Google account, if logged in.

For further information, see Google’s Privacy Policy: Privacy policy.

How can you enable/disable cookies?

When you access our website, you will be shown a notice or information banner about cookies which informs you of the way in which you can give or refuse your consent to the installation of cookies and you will have a configuration panel available for this purpose. You can reconfigure them here: Configuration of Cookies.
